What NoJunkFeed does

NoJunkFeed is a Chrome extension that filters posts in infinite-scroll social media feeds. Supported built-in sites work by default unless you pause them, and custom sites require you to add the site first. You write plain-English rules, and the extension uses an AI model to determine whether visible posts match those rules. Matching posts are collapsed or hidden in your browser.

What data is collected

NoJunkFeed collects the information needed to provide the filtering service: an anonymous install identifier for account-free free usage, your email address if you sign in with a magic link, your subscription tier, saved filter rules, saved site preferences, custom site selector settings, referral code information, scan quota usage, product telemetry events, and extension settings. When filtering is active on a supported or custom site that is not paused, the extension sends visible post text, a post identifier, the active rules, the site key, and the page hostname/origin to NoJunkFeed for classification. Product telemetry stores funnel events such as install, signup, onboarding page open, popup open, filter creation, supported site detection, post detection, and classification success; it stores coarse counts, site keys or hostnames, timestamps, and a hashed install identifier, but not post text or filter text.

How your filter rules are stored

Your filter rules, saved site preferences, custom site selector settings, account status, and quota information are stored on NoJunkFeed's backend so they can sync across devices after you sign in. The extension also stores a local copy of active rules, site pause preferences, session status, display preferences, and cached classification results using Chrome storage so filtering can run efficiently.

Third-party services

NoJunkFeed uses Cloudflare to host the backend and database, Google's Gemini API to classify post text against your rules, Resend to send magic-link sign-in emails, and Stripe to process paid subscriptions. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by NoJunkFeed.

Data retention

NoJunkFeed retains account data, saved rules, saved sites, selector settings, subscription status, session records, referral records, quota records, and product telemetry while your account is active or as needed to operate the service. Classification logs may include prompts, model responses, matched rules, reasons, post identifiers, site keys, source hostnames/origins, timestamps, and model names for debugging, abuse prevention, quota enforcement, and service improvement. NoJunkFeed does not use this data for advertising.

Data sharing

NoJunkFeed does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. User data is shared only with service providers when necessary to provide or improve the filtering service, process subscriptions, send sign-in emails, protect against abuse, comply with law, or complete a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets after any legally required notice or consent.

Limited Use

NoJunkFeed's use of information received from Chrome APIs and from supported or custom websites complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. NoJunkFeed uses this data only to provide or improve its single purpose: filtering posts on sites that are not paused according to rules you create. NoJunkFeed does not use this data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

Human access

NoJunkFeed does not allow humans to read user data except with your explicit consent for support, when necessary for security or abuse investigations, to comply with applicable law, or for aggregated and anonymized internal operations.

Permissions

The extension has access to supported built-in social sites listed in its Chrome Web Store permissions and requests additional access only when you add a custom site. This access is used to read visible post text, detect posts, run the custom-site picker, collapse or hide matching posts, and show filtering controls. The broad optional custom-site permission exists so you can choose a hostname at runtime; NoJunkFeed requests access for the specific custom site you enter.
